How I Got Into Writing

I’ve always been into writing even as a little child. I was an introvert and created stories in my head. I was always daydreaming at the back of the class. I would draw and make stories. When I was 16 years old, I went into self-publshing. Using the earliest version of Word and a printer, I was able to write several short stories and published them. I gave them to my friends who loved my short stories! I also tried to go into film making being a fan of Steven Spielberg as a child. My first movie was a stop motion animation using my Batman and Catwoman figures.

I was obsessed with tv shows such as He-Man, Batman, Thundercats as a child. I loved The Knight Rider, McGyver, Million Dollar Man, Star Trek TNG, Alien Nation, X-Files so I would like to believe that these tv shows have inspired me to be creative.

I also loved reading novels. My favorite writer was Helen Fielding from Bridget Jones Diary fame, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte and oddly enough Nathaniel Hawthorne. I love the rom-com genre and I had a chick-lit phase at one time where I was only reading British Chick-Lit.

I took MA in Literature after college and was a thesis shy of getting a degree. Perhaps, if I go back to my home country, I can sitll finish it. Who knows?

I used to blog daily before with my now defunct blog. On my free time, I do podcast shows such as movie reviews, have a podcast show about money and about my self-publishing journey. Go to my About Me Page for more info about where to find my shows.

Working full time as a healthcare worker, it’s been crazy that I was able to write and publish my first book and currently working on 2 other books to publish by the end of the year. I don’t really know how I do it. I guess I am just motivated by my creative juices to create something and to write something.

I have the plot and the endings figured out. It’s more like finding the time to write them down since I have a full-time job that takes most of my time. I continue to write at night, every night just wanting to put everything on paper ( metaphorically speaking ).

I will write more about my thoughts, my travels and my upcoming books in future blog posts.
